Automations that run on your Mac

Set a trigger and an action in the app. It runs while your Mac is awake, even when you are not in an AI chat. Free includes three enabled automations.

Choose when a job starts

Use a cron schedule or a repeating interval. A job can also respond to incoming mail, a message, a new RSS, Atom, or JSON feed item, or files appearing or changing in a watched folder. Mail and message rules can narrow which arrivals count.

Time

Run at a chosen time or repeat at an interval. Set up the job once and inspect each run afterward.

New information

Start from matching mail or messages, or when a subscribed feed gets a new item.

Files

Watch a permitted folder for file changes. A separate file gate can hold a run until the required files are present.

Choose what runs

An action can run a command, ask your installed Claude or Codex CLI, call an AI provider you configured, or queue a task for Claude Desktop. The CLI actions use the tools and sign-in on your Mac. Codex can be kept read-only or allowed to write only in folders you set in its settings.

Runs retain their status and output. Failed work goes to a dead-letter queue for inspection. A keep-awake option is available for jobs that must finish before the Mac sleeps. Each automation runs under the permissions of your macOS user, so check commands and folder access before enabling it.
